Best starting words
There is no sacred opener. There is a short list of properties that good openers share.
What to look for
- Two or three vowels, ideally including E or A.
- Frequent consonants such as R, S, T, L, or N.
- No doubled letter on the first guess — you are mapping the alphabet, not committing.
A reusable pair
Many players keep one opener and one backup that covers the letters the first word missed. That second word is for days when the opener comes back almost gray. It is not required every day.
What we will not do
This page will not publish a fake ranked leaderboard or invented win rates. When Stage 2 adds solver math, recommendations will come from letter frequency in the allowed set — not from fabricated community votes.
